Meeting the Objectives of SANIFIN Project

The SANIFIN project, implemented by the PADF with funding from USAID, aims to:

  • Reduce open burning of wood by using Biochar as a fuel replacement.
  • Prevent environmental catastrophes such as air pollution, deforestation, and ecosystem destruction.

Biochar as a Fuel Replacement

  • Reduces the need to cut trees for burning wood, which is rampant in many regions of Haiti.
  • Helps in reducing air pollution and preserving both animal and vegetal ecosystems.

Biochar & Ash Residues
